A normal and regular question asked by aspirants for the University of Benin is How Many Students Will UNIBEN Admit this year? Over the years, the number of students UNIBEN admits has been increasing. This is due to the introduction of new Faculties and Departments, like Metallurgical Engineering, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Mechatronics, e.t.c.

Yearly, 70,000 students apply to UNIBEN. But the UNIBEN admission board usually considers applicants based on some specific criteria. This include:

  • Catchment Areas
  • JAMB Score
  • SSCE (WAEC/NECO) Results
  • Post UTME Score, e.t.c.

The UNIBEN admission list contains names of all students that have been offered admission to study various courses at the University of Benin. So, let’s answer your question.

Number of Students UNIBEN will Admit this Year

It is important to note that out of the 35,000 people that apply to the UNIBEN and sit for the POST UTME Examination, UNIBEN will only admit 11,000 of these Students this Year. Those considered for admission into the University of Benin will be only those who scored 200 and above in JAMB and sat for the Post UTME.

How to Gain Admission into UNIBEN

  1. Make sure you score high above 200 in your JAMB UTME Examination
  2. Perform well in your SSCE examinations by getting credits in all your relevant subjects.
  3. Buy and Study UNIBEN Post UTME Past Questions from 2010 till date
  4. Check UNIBEN Cut Off Mark for All Courses and know the cut off mark for the courses you are applying for.
  5. Define your target and start practising and working towards it diligently.
  6. Keep your ears open and be informed about the latest updates and admission news in UNIBEN. You can contact us for that
  7. When you are filling your POST UTME Form, put in your major choice course as your first choice while your second choice should be a course related to it. E.g. Mechanical and Production Engineering. Do not fill in the same course twice to be on the safer side.
