An early bird, and looking for a perfect morning job to fit your personality? This list of morning specific jobs is definitely a guide in choosing what’s best for you.

Morning

What Are Some Morning Specific Jobs?

Early morning is considered anything before 8 am. But, as we’ll show here, some early morning jobs can start as early as 4 am. Early morning jobs are perfect if you are an early bird who enjoys waking up with or before the sun.

Some early morning jobs include baker, barista, airport ticket agent, flight attendant, pilot, farmworker, morning radio DJ, morning news producer, stockroom worker, and truck driver, to name a few.

While some of these jobs like a pilot require extensive training, skills, and qualifications, other early morning careers provide on-the-job training to workers with little to no experience. Some early morning jobs earn good money, too.

This includes:

1. Starting at 4 o’clock: 5%

2. Start at 5 o’clock: 7%

3. Starting at 6 o’clock: 14%

4. Start at 7 o’clock: 29%

5. Clock in at 8 o’clock: 52%

There are several industries where an early start is mandatory, including:

1. Farming, fishing, and forestry

2. Construction

3. Architecture and engineering

4. Installation, maintenance, and repair.

5. Here we’ll dig a little deeper into early morning jobs to help you discover your ideal gig.

Best Paying Morning Specific Jobs

Whether you are eager to make the most of your time or you’re looking for a side hustle or you want to get rich a little faster, these early morning jobs are certainly one of the best out there.

1. Lyft Driver

The best part about working for ride-sharing apps like Lyft is that you get to set your own hours! Of course, you probably need to be in a more urban area, but Lyft gives you the ability to start your day fresh and early.

Jump into that driver’s seat and get moving. You might even beat the sun! It’s a great gig because people are always looking for rides, and you get to decide when your clock-in time is.

2. Barista

Want to make your coffee and drink it too? Then a job as a barista is perfect for you! Most cafes and coffee shops open early to catch the morning commute, so it’s likely you’ll have to get to work hours before men and women leave the house.

And everyone will love that you take the morning shifts! It’s a perfect way to spend a morning, with the thick smell of coffee beans hanging in the air and the sun just peeking out over the horizon.

3. Dog Walker

One of the best part-time morning jobs for those that enjoy walking is being a dog walker.

There are many platforms that offer these services, but my current favourite is Rover. This connects pet owners with responsible people who can provide dog walking and pet sitting services.

Many people are busy in the mornings and they may not have enough time to give their dogs a good walk. As a Rover dog walker with a great reputation, you can earn up to $1,000 per month.

Rover requires users to:

1. Be at least 18 years old,

2. Pass a background check

3. Have a smartphone to run the Rover app.

4. Baker

One of the most common early morning jobs is being a baker. We all want fresh bread and pastries for our breakfast. If you are an early riser and you enjoy baking, you can certainly earn some extra money.

The best way to get started is to look for a job in a nearby bakery or shop that’s hiring people with your baking skills.

If you enjoy the experience, perhaps you can open your own place later and hire other early risers! The key skills you will need are a thorough understanding of baking and a sunny disposition.

As a baker, you can earn up to $20 per hour, and you could combine this with another career.

5. Flight Attendant

It extremely focused flight attendants on the needs of their passengers. This can often include early morning jobs when those early flights are scheduled.

There is more to this role than simply serving drinks. So, it can be an extremely rewarding career.

A flight attendant plays a very important role during an emergency as they need to ensure that passengers are following the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.

An average flight attendant’s salary is $77,000 per year, but it is possible to earn more if you have more experience.

6. Mail Carrier

Mail carriers have to get up and at ‘em first thing in the morning.

They’ve got to get that mail delivered! This is a great early morning job because, well, there’s always mail that needs delivering! And you’ll get to explore new parts of the city or town you live in as you’ve never gotten the chance to do before.

7. Freelancer

Do you have a special skill that others would love to have? Are you an expert in a specific field? Do you want to set your own hours and work from anywhere? Then a position as a freelancer is perfect for you!

Freelancers can set their own hours and work whenever they want. So if you get up early, you can bang out a day’s worth of work before the rest of the world even knows what day it is.

8. Nurse

Nurses usually work shorter weeks but longer days — and they usually work shifts that can lead to poor sleep schedules. A nurse might work a 12-hour shift from 7 am to 7 pm or 3 pm to 3 am.

According to Health Affairs says nurses working on specialized units such as surgery, dialysis, and intensive care are often required to be available to work extra hours (on-call), besides working their regularly scheduled shifts.

The good news is that nurses usually only work a few days a week and get more time off.

9. Cleaner

Some of the most lucrative part-time morning jobs are house cleaning and handyman services. Many busy homeowners need a little extra help in the mornings when they are dealing with many complex tasks.

One of my favourite platforms for this kind of work right now is Handy, which connects busy people with workers that can help. As a Handy worker, you may clean or help in other ways. It’s possible to earn up to $22 per hour plus tips.

Some of the highest earners on Handy are making over $1,000 per week!

They must allow every Handy worker to work in the country where they live and have some experience in cleaning and/or handyman work.

10. Truck Driver

If you can drive a truck, but hate getting stuck in traffic, maybe an early morning truck driving job would be a better fit? The best part about driving a truck at this time of day is that the roads are not as busy, and it’s easy to get better mileage.

If you’re running your own business, you can save a lot of money on fuel working in this way.

The only things you need are good driving skills and a willingness to work early or overnight and finish in the mornings.

Many drivers don’t like to drive at these times, so it’s easier to find regular work. You can even find work through GoShare. The earning potential is as much as $35 per hour if you have relevant experience and a good work ethic.

11. Pilot

Let’s face it; being a pilot is a very specialized profession that requires a great deal of training that’s expensive. It can take a long time to learn how to fly a commercial aircraft safely, and this is a challenging job.

But, this is a great way to earn a high salary of around $115,000 per year, and you may get to travel the world.

Many pilots make more money by flying on routes that are less popular, and over time this can really add up to a significant amount.

13. Factory Worker

Working in a factory can be a great full or part-time early morning job. Most factories don’t need a lot of formal qualifications, but you may need some relevant experience and a high school diploma.

If you have practical skills, such as forklift driving, you can earn more picking up shifts in the morning, night, or weekend.

This can be a physical job, so you need some basic fitness, and you may have to stand or sit in the same position for an entire shift.

The pay can vary a great deal depending on the complexity of the work, but factory workers that don’t mind early shifts are always in high demand.
