The cost of the BFA/MA and BFA/MAT Art Education Programs include the tuition and fees listed above, and one year of tuition and fees at the graduate level.
Please be aware that certain types of financial aid are pro-rated for enrollment less than 12 credits. Always check with the Office of Student Financial Assistance if you intend to enroll for less than 12 credits.
The academic definition of “full-time enrollment” varies from the billing and financial aid policies as stated above. Full-time students take at least 12 credits per semester; part-time students take fewer than 12 credits per semester. Every student enrolled in nine credits or more MUST either enroll in MassArt’s health insurance plan or submit an insurance waiver. Students are charged in the fall for the full academic year. The MassArt insurance cost for 2022-2023 is $3,663 (billed in the fall).

Massachusetts College of Art and Design Work-Study
Students who are studying at MassArt can work while they study. There are a lot of internships that are available and the students can apply and start working. Internships help you know more about the professional way of working and the experience that you gain from that will be very useful for your future.
- Internships should be done only 135 hours within 15 consecutive weeks.
- 20 hours per week for an intern is the maximum.
- The internship employer must be an established business, organization or professional artist.
