Learning to infuse humor into various situations is a skill that can bring joy and lightness to life. It involves finding the wit and playfulness in everyday occurrences, conversations, and even challenging moments.

Infuse Humor

Humour is a humanly attribute. It is part of our essence-ness as human beings. There is absolutely no human on earth who doesn’t like to laugh. Or have you seen anyone who detests the feeling they get from laughing? I guess not, because every one of us enjoys laughing and we all love the way it makes us feel afterwards.

Although, there are a lot of other persons who have taken life so serious and this has prevented them from even laughing at their own jokes, how pathetic can that be? For some reason, they just fail to always see the fun part of things.

Now, don’t get me wrong, it is very good that we get serious with our dealings in life and all. Because if we don’t, we really cannot achieve those big goals that we’ve set for ourselves. However, that doesn’t mean that you should just program yourself to be serious at all times.

Do you even know that serious is stress? Being extremely serious can be stressful, and stress can wear you out like seemingly, no other thing on this earth. That’s why you need to have “relief moments” every now and then while in your series of serious sessions.

Getting too serious all the time might as well reduce your life expectancy and I believe you wouldn’t want that for yourself, would you? Well, of course, you wouldn’t want to! So why not loosen up a bit and stop choking yourself up for something that is not worth it. As a matter of fact, nothing is really worth choking up about.

So, it’s very important that you learn how to create humour out of possibly anything and everything. Even though you still can’t create humour out of it, at least you should be able to see the humour in things, because practically, everything has its own innate humour.

Some are quite visible and pronounced, while others, you would need to look more closely in order to see the underlying humour in it. All the same, detecting and pulling it out is all that matters as long as this subject is concerned.

So, in a few write-ups away, I’ll be stating some ways you can apply or use so that you would be able to see or create humour out of things. You don’t necessarily need a college degree to be able to do this. You just need a willing and open mind so that the things that would be said would come to you clearly and vividly.

Doing otherwise will make it obscure and vague. So below are some of the enumerated ways:

  1. FIRST ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS HUMOUR IN EVERYTHING

So first of all, you need to really admit and acknowledge the fact that humour seemingly exists in everything, even the things you think it cannot exist in, it still does.

It doesn’t really take you so much to do, just know that there is humour in whatever you do because if you can’t do that, then creating humour will be a very difficult thing for you.

A lot of people will not agree with this fact. But whether you like it or not, it is still the truth. I don’t really know why people think of humour as a thing for jokers and clowns. I mean, though it is exceptionally for people of the comedy profession. People of other professions still very much employ the humour technique in what they do but at a minimal level, so that they don’t overdo their bit.

So as I was saying, begin to acknowledge humour now in everything. It can even make you learn things faster, you never can tell.

There really is a thing humour does to you, you can’t really explain it but you just know that it has done something to you, in a good way though.

  1. DON’T TRY TOO HARD—IT WON’T WORK

Another thing you should know about creating humour is that it comes freely in and out. You really don’t need to force it. Trying to force it out will be so useless and pointless because, in the end, it will lead to a disaster.

trust me, nothing can be so disastrous as forcing a joke when for a fact it is not. You can look so stupid and dumb especially if your main aim was to be funny. People may laugh not necessarily at your jokes, but rather at your level of stupidity and foolishness.

So folks, whatever you do, don’t ever try to force out humour. Just allow it to come freely and if it is not coming, then just chill, it will surely come around, trust me on that!

Most of those things you think are really funny and causes a lot of laughter was just done without necessarily overthinking how it can be funny, it just came out freely.

Just as the wind blows freely and everywhere, the same thing is true for humour. Allow it to come to you and don’t go looking for it like it is a lost entity or something, please don’t!

  1. BECOME A WIDE AND WILD READER

Now, creating humour cannot just come out of the thin air, it has to be somewhere, trapped or locked up or something. That’s why reading can be the best way to create humour.

There is really a lot of humour that exists in writings, most that the world has not gotten access to. If you’re the type that doesn’t read, then start developing the habit of not just becoming a reader, but a consistent, wide and wild one.

In case you don’t know, reading is fun, especially when you’re not doing it for any assessment, examination or interview. Just reading for fun is epic, because you tend to gain more knowledge this way.

Personally, I really do hate reading for examinations because it puts me under so much pressure and I end up reading to just pass and not actually learn what the book is trying to tell me, it really annoying.

Alright, so sorry for the deviation. You got my point all the same. Try reading consistently and then you’ll see yourself having ideas about how humour is created.

Who knows, you might as well end up creating your own special kind of humour that hasn’t been seen anywhere before. Just try it out, you won’t regret it, trust me!

  1. LEARN TO RELATE WITH OTHERS FREELY

I guess right now you may be wondering how relating with others can help you create humour out of things. Well, for the record, it can, it really can, especially when you really relate with others on a deeper level and not be pretentious about anything.

Just being true to yourself and the people around can do a lot more for you than you can imagine, trust me it will. You don’t need to possess a special ability to be able to do that.

People are different. Every one of us has something inside of us that differentiate us from each other. In other words, we all have our own different kinds of humour and that is really a lovely thing to have you know—nothing can take it from you.

So learning to relate with others will help you to see how everyone else define humour and then you can see how it can help you create more out of what you really didn’t think of.

Just don’t overdo it though, so that people will still see you and regard you because people can be so funny and quite naughty at the same time. This might not be the best point I’ve made so far, but it is definitely a point that needs to be considered.

  1. JUST BE YOURSELF

You know one thing about being yourself, it brings out the very best in you. It makes you see and accept yourself just as you and not give a damn about what people say about you.

Now, with respect to the subject matter, just being yourself bring out spontaneous and natural humour from within you and that makes all the difference in whatever you are doing—every bit of it.

Pretending to be who you are not will help you see humour as it is. Rather, you might as well even see fake humour which is not relieving.

By the way, who told you that you are not cool as you are? Don’t even try to be someone else because they are really not better off than you. The thing is, you just haven’t realized your worth yet, and your self-esteem is crawling and needs to walk, that just the problem.

Just be yourself. No matter the situation, just be yourself. It’ll really make you see things so differently. It will help you even see the humour that exists in others.
