FCAHPTVOM Admission

FCAHPTVOM Admission for the academic year 2024/2025 is now open, welcoming applications for Remedial, ND, and HND programs.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Vom, Jos, various Higher National Diploma (HND), National Diploma (ND) and Remedial programmes for the academic session.

National Diploma (ND)

  • National Diploma in Animal Health & Production Technology (2 years)

  • National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (2 years)
  • National Diploma in Computer Science (2 years)
  • National Diploma in Environmental Health Technology (2 years)

Higher National Diploma (HND)

  • Animal Health Technology (2 Years)
  • Animal Production Technology (2 Years)
  • Agricultural Extension & Management (2 Years)

FCAHPTVOM Admission Requirements.

NOTE: Applicants are to note that all National Diploma Admissions are through JAMB. In addition, applicants who possess the basic ordinary level entry requirement regardless of whether they chose the College or not but have scored the minimum cut off marks of 120 in 2019 UTME can apply for any of the ND programmes.

  1. Remedial Programme
    1. Evidence of attempting the Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) organised by WAEC or NECO or their equivalent in science subjects.
  2. Environmental Health Assistant
    1. Four (4) ordinary passes in SSCE/GCE/NABTEB or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings in science subjects. A credit pass in English Language would be an added advantage.
  3. Environmental Health Technician
    1. Three (3) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE/NABTEB or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings in English Language, Mathematics and any other science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing,, Health Science or Food and Nutrition. In addition to the initial three (3) Credits level passes, two (2) other science subjects at ordinary pass level are required.
  4. National Diploma in Animal Health & Production Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and two (2) subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economic/Commerce, Food and Nutrition and Technical Drawing. At least a pass in Chemistry and Physic is compulsory.
  5. National Diploma in Agricultural Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and two (2) subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economic/Commerce, Food and Nutrition and Technical Drawing. At least a pass in Chemistry and Physic is compulsory.
  6. National Diploma in Fisheries Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and two (2) subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Fisheries, Geography, Economic/Commerce, Food and Nutrition and Technical Drawing. At least a pass in Chemistry and Physic is compulsory
  7. National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. The five (5) subjects must include Mathematics, English Language and two (2) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science. Any one other subject from Technical Drawing, Metal or Wood Work, Basic Electricity, Geography and Further Mathematics. At least a pass in each of the three (3) basic sciences: Biology, Chemistry and Physics is compulsory, and relevant NTC/NBC and NVC trades.
  8. National Diploma in Environmental Health Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. The five (5) subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science, and any one (1) other subject from Physics, Technical Drawing, Geography, Food and Nutrition/Home Management and Economics/Commerce.
    2. Ordinary level entry requirement as in ‘a’ above with Environmental Health Assistant Certificate.
    3. Applicants with ordinary level entry requirement as in ‘a’ above with Environmental Health Technician Certificate will be admitted directly to ND II.
  9. National Diploma in Computer Science
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. The five (5) subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, a basic science from Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Agricultural Science and other subjects chosen from the following: Economic, Geography, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Typewriting and ICT/Computer Studies. A pass in Physics is compulsory for Computer Science, and relevant NTC/NBC and NVC trades,
    2. A pass in Computer Foundation Examination (CFE) of Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria. Also, the student must be qualified as in ( a) above.
  10. National Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory Technology
    1. Five credit passes in GCE or Senior Secondary Certificate (NABTEB WAEC, NECO) at no more than two sittings. The five subjects must include Mathematics, English language and three other subjects which include Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Health Science/Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry.
  11. Higher National Diploma in Animal Health Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and two (2) subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economic/Commerce, Food and Nutrition and Technical Drawing. At least a pass in Chemistry and Physic is compulsory.
    2. National Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology with a minimum of lower credit pass.
    3. A minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate experience.
    4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two (2) or more years cognate experience may be considered.
    5. The candidate must be from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited programme.
    6. National Diploma JAMB Admission letter.
  12. Higher National Diploma in Animal Production Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2)
    2. sittings. Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and two (2) subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Geography,
    3. Economic/Commerce, Food and Nutrition and Technical Drawing. At least a pass in Chemistry and Physic is compulsory.
    4. National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit in Agricultural Technology programmes, Animal Health and Production Technology, Wildlife and Eco-Tourism Management and Innovation Agriculture.
    5. A minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate experience.
    6. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two (2) or more years cognate experience may be considered.
    7. The candidate must be from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited programme.
    8. National Diploma JAMB Admission letter.
  13. Higher National Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Management
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. The five (5) subjects must include English Language and Mathematics and other ordinary level credits relevant to the ND programme the applicant possesses.
    2. National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit in any Agricultural programme (E.g. ND Agricultural Technology, Animal Health and Production Technology, Fisheries, Horticultural Technology and Wild life and Ecotourism Management etc).
    3. A minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate experience.
    4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two (2) or more years cognate experience may be considered.
    5. The candidate must be from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited programme.
    6. National Diploma JAMB Admission letter.
  14. Higher National Diploma in Fisheries Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science and two (2) subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Fisheries, Geography, Economic/Commerce, Food and Nutrition and Technical Drawing. At least a pass in Chemistry and Physic is compulsory.
    2. National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit in Fisheries Technology.
    3. A minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate experience.
    4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two (2) or more years cognate experience may be considered.
    5. The candidate must be from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited programme.
    6. National Diploma JAMB Admission letter.
  15. Higher National Diploma in Computer Science
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. The five (5) subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, a basic science from Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Agricultural Science and other subjects chosen from the following: Economic, Geography, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Typewriting and ICT/Computer Studies. A pass in Physics is compulsory for Computer Science, and relevant NTC/NBC and NVC trades.
    2. National Diploma in Computer Science or National Innovation Diploma in Networking & System Security or National Innovation Diploma in Computer Software Engineering with a minimum of lower credit.
    3. A minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate experience.
    4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two (2) or more years cognate experience may be considered.
    5. The candidate must be from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited programme.
    6. National Diploma JAMB Admission letter.
  16. Higher National Diploma in Environmental Health Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. The five (5) subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science, and any one (1) other subject from Physics, Technical Drawing, Geography, Food and Nutrition/Home Management and Economics/Commerce.
    2. National Diploma in Environmental Health Technology
    3. The candidate must be from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited programme.
    4. National Diploma JAMB Admission letter.
  17. Higher National Diploma in Pest Management Technology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. The five (5) subjects must include English Language and Mathematics and other ordinary level credits relevant to the ND programme the applicant possesses.
    2. National Diploma in Agricultural Technology, Science Laboratory Technology or National Innovation Diploma in Innovation Agriculture with a minimum of lower credit.
    3. A minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate experience.
    4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two (2) or more years cognate experience may be considered.
    5. The candidate must be from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited programme.
    6. National Diploma JAMB Admission letter.
  18. Higher National Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory Technology with options in Pathology, Anaesthesiology, Diagnostic Imaging and Microbiology
    1. Five (5) Credit level passes in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two (2) sittings. The five (5) subjects must include English Language and Mathematics and other ordinary level credits relevant to the ND programme the applicant possesses.
    2. National Diploma in Veterinary Laboratory Technology, Science Laboratory Technology or Animal Health & Production Technology with a minimum of lower credit.
    3. A minimum of one year post National Diploma cognate experience.
    4. In exceptional cases, National Diploma certificate holders with a pass but with two (2) or more years cognate experience may be considered.
    5. The candidate must be from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accredited programme.
    6. National Diploma JAMB Admission letter.

How to Apply for FCAHPTVOM Admission.

Interested applicants are expected to visit the College portal “portal.fcahptvom.edu.ng” and fill the application form after the payment as follows:

i. One thousand naira (N1, 000) only for Environmental Health Assistant, Environmental Health Technician and ND programmes.
ii. Three thousand naira (N3, 000) only for HND programmes.

CLOSING DATE FOR COMPLETION AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM

Candidates are expected to complete and submit the application form online and printout an acknowledgment slip on or before September.
