Police Academy

The Richmond Police Academy and Virginia Union University have a Memorandum of Understanding.  Graduates of the Richmond Police Department Basic Police Officer Recruit Academy are eligible to be awarded 21 semester credit hours at VUU.  The 21 semester credit hours will only be awarded after the officer does the following:

  • Completed Application
  • Official final high school transcript or GED scores
  • Complete Application for Work/Life Experience
  • Complete Request for Tuition Remission

Complete this application for those who is seeking to take courses at VUU without obtaining a degree.  The student will not be eligible for financial aid or scholarships.  A non-matriculated applicant could be for various reasons including:

  • To transfer credit back to the college where you are seeking a degree;

  • To try out college before deciding if you want to get a degree.
