Revised Examination Commencement Dates

The university has decided to extend the commencement date of the second semester examinations by two weeks. This adjustment means that examinations that were initially slated to begin on Thursday, 15th February, will now start on Thursday, 29th February, specifically with the Faculty of Education leading the schedule. Following this, other faculties are set to commence their examinations on Tuesday, 5th March, 2024.

Mandatory Registration and Fee Payment

In line with the Senate’s policy, it is imperative to highlight that the registration of courses and the payment of fees are preconditions for eligibility to sit for semester examinations at Abia State University. This policy will be strictly enforced to maintain academic integrity and ensure that only qualified, bonafide students of the university participate in the examination process.

Eligibility Criteria for Students

To be eligible to write the examinations starting Thursday, 29th February, 2024, students must:

  • Have registered their courses for the semester.
  • Paid all appropriate fees in full.

Notice to Students, Parents, Guardians, and Sponsors

It is crucial for students, along with their parents, guardians, and sponsors, to take note of these changes and ensure strict compliance with the university’s regulations regarding course registration and fee payments. This adherence is not only essential for the students’ academic progression but also for maintaining the high standards of academic excellence and accountability that Abia State University upholds.

Conclusion

This extension provides a valuable window for students who may need additional time to prepare, register their courses, and settle any outstanding fees. Abia State University is committed to offering a conducive learning environment and fair academic processes for all its students. As the revised dates approach, students are encouraged to finalise all necessary preparations to ensure a smooth and successful examination period. Let’s work together towards a productive and exemplary academic session at ABSU.
